Melbourne Public Notary for Lost Kenya Passport Statutory Declaration

Are you from Kenya and have lost your passport in Melbourne?

If you are a Kenyan citizen in Melbourne and have lost your Kenya passport, you must apply to the Kenya High Commission in Canberra for a replacement passport and as part of that process will require the services of a notary public. You can find information about applying for a new passport here. Your application will include a statutory declaration/affidavit which needs to be notarised by an Australian Notary Public in Melbourne. The Kenya High Commission has a template statutory declaration here. You will need to ensure your statutory declaration contains the following information:

1. You are a Kenyan citizen;

2. Provide your Kenyan passport number and issue date;

3. Reason for losing your passport;

4. Details of your police report;

5. State you are cannot locate your passport and believe it is lost;

6. State you are applying for a new passport;

7. Attach the application form with application fee;

8. Undertake to return your new passport to the Kenya Government if you find your lost passport;

9. Indemnify the Kenya Government against any claims which result from your lost passport;

10. Swear the contents of your statutory declaration and application are true to the best knowledge and belief.

After you have prepared the statutory declaration, you must then declare and sign it in the presence of the notary public. Our Melbourne Notary Public will then notarise your statutory declaration before it is submitted to the Kenya High Commission. Please note you need to prove your identity by providing an Australian driver license or photograph ID card.
