We have worked with registered migration agents (RMAs) for many years. Many agents would rather not take on long, high-risk matters. These cases need detailed legal argument, the outcome is uncertain, and they take time away from your routine applications. When one comes along, you can refer the client to us and our Accredited Specialists in Immigration Law will handle it. Once the referred matter is finished, you can keep looking after the client's routine visa applications.
Matters suitable for referral
- Judicial review in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia or the Federal Court (migration agents can't act in court proceedings)
- Character refusals and cancellations (s501, s116 and others), especially where there is a criminal record
- High-risk matters such as PIC 4020 (false or misleading information) and health requirement issues
- Complex ART matters that need legal argument, or hearings where you'd like a lawyer to work with you
- Urgent situations such as ministerial intervention requests, immigration detention and overstayed visas
- Immigration matters that also involve family law, criminal, commercial or estate issues
