China Power Of Attorney

China Power of Attorney (委托书) made in Melbourne

If you are living in Melbourne and require someone in China to act on your behalf, you can give them authority by signing a power of attorney. You might require a Chinese power of attorney to deal with business or property matters in Mainland China but have no time to travel to China to sign documents. Therefore, a China power of attorney can allow you to appoint someone (受托人) to deal with your personal and business affairs on your behalf so that other people in China dealing with that person knows they have the power to act on your behalf. Please contact your lawyer in China for the appropriate format and content of the Chinese power of attorney as our Melbourne Public Notary cannot provide specific advice. Although our Melbourne Public Notary regularly deals with Chinese Power of Attorney and might highlight general requirements, you should seek advice from a lawyer in China to prepare a valid China power of attorney. Once you have prepared the Chinese Power of Attorney, our Melbourne Notary Public can notarise the power of attorney and assist you with obtaining authentication by DFAT (澳大利亚外交贸易部) and authentication by the Chinese Consulate Melbourne (中华人民共和国驻墨尔本总领事馆). You can arrange for your own authentication with DFAT and the Chinese Consulate Melbourne. Our Notary Public can arrange authentication for you if you want to avoid delay and the hassle of doing it yourself.
