Kin Wee Chua (蔡庆伟) is the founder and principal of Chua Tan Associates, which he established in Melbourne in 1990. He was admitted to practice in 1989 and has been a notary public since 2001. He is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law, an accreditation he has held since 1996. For more than 30 years, the firm he founded has acted for Melbourne’s Chinese community and clients across Australia.

As the firm’s notary public, Kin witnesses and certifies documents that are to be used overseas. Many of the firm’s clients have family and assets both in Australia and abroad, and a notarised document is often a necessary step when dealing with property, an estate, a business or a government authority in another country. Depending on the destination, a notarised document may also need an apostille or authentication before it is accepted overseas.

Kin served on the Law Institute of Victoria’s Immigration Law Section committee from 1997 to 2004. Alongside his immigration and notarial work, he advises across family, commercial, estate and other areas of law, which is useful for clients whose personal, family and business affairs are connected.
